Max’s Bar Mitzvah in New York City

I became a New York Bat & Bar Mitzvah photographer in a very organic way. It all started with newborn photoshoots or family photoshoots when my clients had small children.

I build strong relationships with my clients, and I often become their family photographer for years. When it’s time for the coming-of-age tradition of Mitzvah, they call me. I’m grateful I can photograph such an important celebration. From a reading of the Torah to a party with your community of friends and family in your child’s honor.

Every Bar Mitzvah is different. People follow traditions on different levels. The ceremony might vary. There are rules in Temples that need to be followed. I make sure I know where I’m needed and allowed. I make sure we have plenty of family photos. And, you can trust me that I will capture the spirit of the party, so you will have beautiful photos of this day to cherish forever.

I photographed Max for the first time when he was two years old, and here I was photographing him at his Bar Mitzvah. I think I was as emotional as his parents. It is a privilege to be invited and trusted to come into people’s lives the way I was welcomed into this family.

As a New York documentary-style photographer, I make sure to capture all the fun that kids and grown-ups have during the party. Your gallery will be full of candid and joyful moments from that day.
