Favorite locations for a family photoshoot in Brooklyn

When you’re scheduling a family photo session, there are so many choices to make. You have to find a photographer you like, outfits, date, time, and location. When we can I like to start a family photoshoot around people’s apartments so we can take a couple of photos in their neighborhood. We are very lucky that Brooklyn has so many beautiful and unique places. Very often just going outside your door you will find iconic NYC sights. But most of the time I meet families in local parks. We have so many choices in Brooklyn.

Prospect Park

Prospect Park is easy to access from most neighborhoods in Brooklyn. Families who live in Park Slope, Prospect Heights, and Windsor Terrace love to do family photo sessions in this park. There are so numerous areas perfect for a photoshoot. From the famous Boathouse, Long Meadow, to Carousel. But, I often just simply take a stroll with a family through the park and capture them as they play, interact and have fun.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

Brooklyn Bridge Park is a new-sh addition to Brooklyn parks and has been developed for years. It has 6 piers with different sport spaces, picnic tables and fun activities for everyone. It’s also a beautiful park for a family photoshoot. Every pier has a different landscpae, but all of them have a beatiful views of Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge.

Cobble Hill Park

This little local park in Cobble Hill became one of the most classic background in Brooklyn for family photoshoots. If you live in Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens or Boroum Hill, the neighborhoods we call Bococa you definetly hung out in that park and want to have pictures from that place.

Valentino Park

Valentino Park is a pier in Red Hook, Brooklyn. It has beautiful flowers everywhere and a view of Statue of Liberty. Families like to start their photoshoot there and then walk around the neighborhood. Red Hook has great sighs, very unique for the neighborhood. Like graffitii or a old truck a front of a famous bar – Sunny’s. The end of the photoshoot is usually rewarded with well-known key lime pie from Steve’s Authetic Key Lime Pie

Fort Greene Park

Fort Greene is a small-ish park in Brooklyn. Local families from Clinton Hill, Fort Greene, and Downtown Brooklyn love coming to there. It’s great for picnics, walk with the stroller and hang out. It has multiple areas that are great for photographs and away from crowds.
